Suspect pretending to be a cop apprehended by Tembisa South SAPS

The Tembisa South SAPS have arrested a suspect for masquerading as a police officer.

The suspect was also found in possession of SAPS equipment including a charge sheet. The suspect also had a toy gun when he was arrested on September 29.

SAPS communications officer Capt Neldah Sekgobela said the police found the 49-year-old man with the police’s bulletproof vest and also a toy gun.

The suspect was also found in possession of a Benoni SAPS docket which relates to firearm and motor vehicle theft charges dated November 2017.

The suspect was detained at the Tembisa South SAPS.

“He will appear at the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court,” said Sekgobela.
