The planned media briefing on the State of Coalition in Ekurhuleni has been indefinitely postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, the metro said shortly before 11am.
A new date for the briefing will be communicated in due course.
The executive mayor of the City of Ekurhuleni, Clr Mzwandile Masina, will today (Thursday) brief the media on the state of the coalition in the City of Ekurhuleni. Masina will be joined by coalition partners, the African National Congress, the African Independent Congress, Pan Africanist Congress, Patriotic Alliance and Independent Ratepayers Association.
Instability and uncertainty has rocked a number of metros across the country over the past few months. The purpose of the press briefing is to provide a platform for the coalition government in the City of Ekurhuleni to share its experiences to date, Masina said.
In August, the African Independent Congress (AIC) gave the ANC until today (September 13) to honour the two parties’ agreement of returning the people of Matatiele in the Eastern Cape to the administration of their original province, KwaZulu-Natal, or lose the metro to the opposition.
The briefing will take place at 3pm at the Germiston council chambers.
