Man gets 15 years for attempted murder after attack in Mayibuye

Detective Warrant Officer Malesela Rapetswa congratulated for a sterling job in police work.

Rabie Ridge SAPS’ station commander Colonel Johana Ngoma congratulated Detective Warrant Officer Malesela Rapetswa for good detective work that led to the conviction of Ian Mashanku Doye.

Corporate communications officer at Rabie Ridge SAPS Captain Mofana Masela said on July 31 Tembisa Magistrate’s Court sentenced Doye to 15 years imprisonment for attempted murder.

“On January 29, 2016, at about 9.45pm the victim, Adene Anshobo, was attacked by two men with the intention to rob the victim.

“The victim arrived at a shop in Mayibuye where he was to deliver stock. The two suspects confronted him and then shot him.

“The two suspects were arrested and charged.

“Co-accused Feisa Chifaye was found not guilty and discharged,” said Masela.

Ngoma encouraged Rapetswa to work even harder at the station so that other young police officers can learn from his experience.
