Tersia King Learning Academy’s junior choir has made it to the final competition of Sing in Harmonie after they competed against 180 schools.
The junior choir participated in the religious song (‘n Wyse man) and song of their choice (Jungle Melody) categories.
The competition will air later this year.
Tersia King Learning Academy’s u-11 soccer team also took part in the Edu-Grow Winter Festival and was declared the overall winner.
The team members were awarded gold medals and certificates of participation. The school’s u-10 soccer team became the third-runner up and was awarded a bronze medal. In the u-11 category, Tumisho Selepe of Tersia King Learning Academy has won the Man of the Tournament title.
Tersia King’s chess group also participated in the festival and became third-placed winners.
The school principal, Rachelle Bezuidenhout, said she feels proud of the children’s achievements and the best attitude they presented in the competition.
“It is a great honour to win awards in both categories and it clearly demonstrates the dedication of the school and the constant development of our sporting activities and supporting tools. My learners prepared for all the competitions in a short period of time and made it to the finals. I am happy for them,” added Bezuidenhout.
