Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) celebrated Africa day at Rabasotho Hall on May 26.

PAC supporters donning their green and yellow regalia came in numbers to listen to the party president Narius Moloto.

He came to Tembisa to celebrate Africa day, a very important day for the party as it has been part of the liberation movement.

“This is the day on which the founding fathers of Africa and the liberation movement decided to come together and form an organisation called OAU.

“Since then we meet and check as to how far we have gone in attaining our full freedom and liberation,” said Moloto.

He said they came to look back on South Africa’s 24 years of democracy to see if the country is still moving in the same footsteps where founding fathers left off.

Moloto added that it is significant for the party to come to Tembisa because the township used to be a very strong base for the PAC.

“Now we are reviving our support here in Tembisa and we are happy with what we have seen. We were well supported by the members of the community. We had cultural groups and the churches also attending,” Moloto said.

He believed the PAC support will grow in Tembisa as the party heads towards the 2019 elections. “It was a very successful day and we are happy that it happened here in Tembisa,” added Moloto.
