Community and Tembisa South SAPS motivate the youth

SAPS members and the youth participated in the event held at the Esiqongweni Sports Ground.

Members of the Tembisa South SAPS Communications, Social Crime Prevention Unit and other stakeholders held an exhibition at the Esiqongweni Sports Ground, Entsonalanga Section on March 2.

Tembisa South SAPS communications officer Captain Neldah Sekgobela said the purpose of the event was to encourage the youth in the area to familiarise themselves with sport activities.

“Members of the provincial Social Crime Prevention Unit joined in to give their support.

“Educational pamphlets to encourage the youth to stop using drugs and alcohol were distributed to the youths that attended the event.

“Most of the youths also signed up to serve at the youth desk that is participating at our police station as we were also there to recruit,” said Sekgobela.

She said about 2 000 youths attended the event to participate and support both soccer and netball. This event was organised by the Kwazini Adult Education Centre.
