Beautiful finalists chosen for pageants

These are the finalists for the Miss Teen Tembisa Beauty Pageant 2017.

Siyaphumelela Youth Development Initiative (SDYI), in partnership with Perfect Choice, have announce the finalists for the 16th annual edition of the Miss Tembisa and Miss Teen Tembisa beauty pageants.

Auditions were held at Moses Molelekwa Art Centre in August.

About 28 contestants will be fighting for the crowns of Miss Tembisa and Miss Teen Tembisa for 2017/2018.

According to the founder of SDYI, Philly Mhlongo, the organisation has developed many young Tembisans who now hold professional positions in big companies.

“It is the same organisation that has produced TV and radio personalities such as Lindiwe Sejake, Pearl Modiadie and Morsei Zama Dlomo. We have professionals in different careers who benefited by obtaining bursaries from De Beers to choose careers of their choice, which has changed their lives.

“This was done with the assistance of Tsepo Monaledi, alongside the current Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi and the station manager Sonnyboy Masingi, as well as Ronny Makola, a marketing director at Perfect Choice, and Kenny Mametsa. These local business people have worked tirelessly to make sure this youth development initiative makes a positive impact on our youth and the community at large,” said Mhlongo.

Mhlongo said SYDI has created job opportunities for more than 4 000 people to date.

“This year we will be celebrating our 16th anniversary in style. We would like to invite all those who have benefited through our youth programme to come and celebrate with us on December 2 at the Aviator Hotel.

“We have even decided to increase the prizes for the winners,” added Mhlongo.

For more information about the event and to purchase tickets, contact the pageant manager Philly Mhlongo on 083 693 6047.

Tickets are selling at Print Palace at R200 a person, including a buffet.

Additional information and updates will be posted on a regular basis on the Miss Tembisa 2017 Facebook page.
