Four arrested for theft of paving bricks

Ivory Park SAPS have arrested four people for allegedly stealing construction company property following a tip-off from members of the community.

The police managed to arrest the four suspects on the night of July 24.

The four suspects, whose ages range from 20, 25 and 63, were allegedly caught red-handed pushing pavement bricks in rubbish bins and wheel barrows.

The incident happened at Ivory Park’s Extension 3.

The Station Commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, has once more thanked the community for heeding the police’s call to be the ears and eyes of the police, and to report crime wherever it is witnessed.

“This should serve as a lesson that public property is for the common good of the public and not for personal use.

The four suspects are expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court to face a charge of theft.
