Ivory Park SAPS appeals for info relating to two murders

Ivory Park SAPS is appealing for information from the community to help them solve two murder cases.

One victim died as a result of gunshot wounds while the other one succumbed to stab wounds.

According to the Ivory Park SAPS communications officer Captain Bernard Matimulane, in the first incident a 26-year old man died on arrival at Tembisa Hospital on April 30, after he was shot by one of two men he was seen talking to at Extension 2, Ivory Park.

“It is believed that there was an argument between the deceased and the men prior to the shooting. He was rushed to hospital where he later succumbed to the injuries,” said Matimulane.

Matimulane said on May 1, passers-by alerted the police about a man who was seeing lying in an open field at Tswelopele, Extension 8.

“The man, whose identity is not yet known, had stab wounds at the back of the head. The police strongly suspect he was murdered somewhere else and then dumped where he was found. He may be in his early 30s,” added Matimulane.

“We believe someone may have witnessed or heard about these murders. Information from the public can go a long way in assisting us in bringing the perpetrators to justice,” said Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, the station commander of the Ivory Park SAPS.
